Hailing from London, England, Honess Jones & The Tough Love were born out of perseverance, grief and a change in purpose. After the death of his long-term partner’s sister at 33 years old, frontman Honess Jones realised he no longer wanted to make the music he was making. Losing someone so close to him with such simple requests of life, he felt like he’d been chasing the wrong things. The pursuit of a groundbreaking, trailblazing pop career no longer mattered. Especially a career that was nowhere near where he thought it would be in his ‘30s. Everything felt different, everything felt irrelevant.

In grief however, Jones revisited a lot of the music that first ignited his love for it. Not just for the comfort of nostalgia but the way in which the songs spoke to him. The real and true human emotions of lyrics-driven ‘90s Americana & Heartland Rock, coupled with the clarity he felt after losing his sister-in-law, reminded him of what truly mattered as an artist and as a man; connecting with other human beings and songs that make you feel. The songs and how they make you feel is all that matters.
